Things I heart.

Just a few lovely links on this lazy Sunday afternoon.
1.I absolute 'live lovelovelovelove laugh'
this necklace.
2.You see more and more of these staged dance scenes, I know, but they just put a smile on my face. This one, was shot on a Monday morning in Antwerp Central station.
3.Why don't I live by the sea? In this house?
4.If you like fabrics, you will LOVE this store. I know I do.
5.The recipe for these yummy muffins comes from here. I can also strongly recommend the 'fudges-carrés with peanuts'. And the 'Trifle with bananas and fudge'. And maybe also the 'Chocolate-Charlotte from Lili'. Oh, what the hell! Just try everything in the book! It's all good!

Maurice.

Let me introduce to you: Maurice.

I made this little fellow last year for the birth of my godson, Jules . He (Maurice, not Jules) has a little music box inside and so if you pull his paw you hear a lullaby. (It wasn't actually a lullaby, but a very famous piece from a ballet Jules' mom loves)
The only problem is, that I want to make another one, but I've got no idea how in the world I was able to make this one in the first place?! How is that possible? I wouldn't even know were to start this time. So just to let you know, no more babies anytime soon please. I first have to figure out how this happened...

A bag pattern.

Today I'm making a bag pattern.
After making a lot of previous bags,
some with a pattern, some without, I wanted to make one
that is completely my own design
and I wanted to do it right.
So I'm drawing
and folding
and trying
(and maybe also cursing a bit... sorry!).

Hopefully it will turn out
how I pictured it in my mind.
The bag I'm making is a gift for one of my mothers best friends
and she's got a slightly different taste than I. Hopefully she is going to like it!
I will keep you posted on the progress and for now;
have a great weekend!

Oh, and just so you know, my desk/sewing table is almost never that tidy. You should see it in a couple of days. Totally different look!

Blood, sweat & tears.

My first quilt.

It was hard.
But worth it! Thank you Mrs. Hartman. You inspire me.

Poppemie.

Tonight Poppemie stayed over. She is the most beautiful and smartest girl in the entire world and I'm lucky to be her nanny for almost seven years now. Because she had been sick for the past few days, she couldn't go to school.
So she made a heart.

And a flower.
I love hearts and flowers. Especially those from Poppemie.

New project.

So, I didn't make prune cake this weekend and that is mainly because of this ugly chair. But it was so 'super-kitsch-throne-like' that I simply couldn't resist it in the secondhand-shop. So now it's mine and I've got big plans with it. And instead of making cake, I started with the demolition of the chair. How exactly I have to go further with this project, I don't know, but we will see. I've got all the time in the world.

The beginning.

Hello,hello!
Welcome to my blog. This is my first attempt, so I still have to learn everything about this blogging-thing. Therefore I'll keep it simple today and just show you a picture of my activity of the day; decorating a cake. I think the marzipan roses turned out fine, hopefully it goes that smooth tomorrow when I'll be making prune cake.
Fingers crossed!
