Fabric.

There is again "een stokje" wandering around in blog land: show us your fabric stash.
Now I can tell you, my fabrics are as neatly arranged like this,

...but then again, I would be lying.
In fact I recently moved all the fabric to a closet, so the colours won't fade from the sun.
The fabric shelf now looks like this:

and the fabrics have found a new home in this messy closet.

The bigger pieces share a cupboard with a speaker and an old collection of VHS-tapes.

And then there's this:
Oh, my.....

Lovely textiles and no place to put them.

And there's also this:
Right, buttons.
A whole lot of buttons.
For some strange reason my mum thought I could maybe use some buttons.

I think I might have to move to here.

Really, I don't see any other solution...

Mothers for Mothers.

A while ago I signed up to make something for this great project.
I made a baby quilt; to be used as a blanket or play mat.

The back is a warm white fleece.

It's a small contribution, but I'm glad I could help.
Maybe it can become an annual project, Sabine?

Jagged edges.

A few months ago I found two fabric sample books outside a store, free to take.
And so I did. Not really sure what I was going to use them for, but I knew they had potential.
Then a few weeks later I read this post and knew I wasn't the only one
that saw more in these little fabric pieces.
And yesterday I found two more sample books outside that store,
one of them being my absolute favorite: Gorgeous striped fabric from Chivasso.
Oh, the things I can make with that!
I'm still not sure though what a man in a bubble bath (which is VERY masculin by the way...)
has got to do with upholstery fabric?!

Under the cutting mat

On my desk I have a collage of all sorts of bits and pieces.
Let's take a closer look:

First Birthday + a FREE PATTERN!

Exactly one year I ago, I started this little blog and what better way to celebrate then by giving away a free pattern!

A couple of things first:
-It's my first attempt making a pattern, so please, please, please be kind.
-You will need to draw the pattern in the actual size.
-You can find rings, bag feet, etc...here .
-Currently the pattern is only available in Dutch. I hope to have the English version finished soon.
-Apparently the pattern PDF is a big file, so be patient, it might take a while to download.
-This pattern is for personal use only.
-If you make a link to the post on your blog/website (not to the pattern directly please) it's very much appreciated.

Download 'The Tatanne Bag' pattern.(PDF)
Download 'The Tatanne Bag' instructions.(PDF)

I'm looking forward to seeing your creations!

*** Because of the popularity of the pattern (which makes me VERY happy indeed) I had to make a few changes to the Download PDF File. You can find the link to the pattern and sewing instructions in the 'PATTERN' page at the top of my blog. You can also find the corresponding photographs there. I really do hope everything is solved now and there will be no more downloading problems. And for my foreign friends, an English/inch version is in the making.***

Lucky me!

Fabrics & all sorts of metal hardware that I got from friends & family this weekend.
Just like that, for no reason...

Thank you everybody!
