The chair.

Just an update on the progress I'm making with the chair.

Now I'm of for a run, hope y'all had a great weekend!

P.S. Check out the amazing Tatanne bag Emma & Mona's mum made!

Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Cupcakes.

When I saw a picture of these little cupcakes earlier this week, I knew I had to make them. I mean:
Cream cheese: good!
Sugar: sweet!
Vanilla: yummy!
Sour cream: tasty!
Oreos: Oh yeah baby!

So, the recipe is very easy, you just put all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk them.

Add some chopped up Oreos.

Put one Oreo in each cupcake tin.

Add some batter to every cupcake and bake for about 25 minutes.

Put them in the fridge for at least 4 hours.

Don't try to think of the fridge and its contents for at least 4 hours.

Reward yourself for your endurance with a very rich and luscious little cake!
Enjoy!

The recipe is by Martha Stewart and you can find it here.

November calls for:

Nobody puts baby in a corner.

I normally don't do music posts, that's something for this girl, but today I just can't help myself.

It's about Dirty Dancing.
I will assume  you know this movie(unless you've been living under a rock for the past 20 years), and you've probably even seen it.  For me it is a sweet childhood memory: the story, the dancing and the music, it was all good!

Now, somebody came up with the brilliant idea of making a remix/cover of the final song from the movie: The time of my life. Originally it's by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes, but some hip hop beans thought it was a good idea to do it their way. And I wish they never did.  I dare you to keep listening, cause believe me, when you think it can't get any worse, it does. It's Bad with a capital B and that's all I have got to say about it.

Covet.

I adore these beautiful sewing materials from Merchant & Mills.
I mean a box with 1 ounce dressmaking pins, how cute is that?
They also carry dress- & bag patterns and the best giftbox I've seen so far this holiday season.
Can you tell I'm a sewing enthusiast?

We sure did, it was awesome!

Heritage, part deux.

Here are some other things I received.

Patterns for a really cool cape & an adorable dress with pleats in the front and back.

Patterns for an easy to make dress & a buttoned dress for expecting mothers.

And a great bikini with pockets(!) modeled by an amputated model.

And then there are these delicate 50 years old patterns with the sweetest drawings on it.

So simple, but so stunning.

Heritage.

A few weeks back I received some great stuff from my employer. She and her siblings are clearing out the house of her deceased parents and she thought I might be interested in a couple of things. So I got:

a box with lovely ribbons.

A miniature box that says "Barbie's Jewelry", but actually has got some tailors chalk in it.

A needlepoint booklet.

 A vintage crafting magazine,

which is surprisingly up to date.

And I also know now the winning lottery numbers of  July 13 1994.

There's is still more cool stuff to come, but that's for another time.
Have a great weekend!

The Attic-Part II

Working hard over here on the loft conversion.  We went from this:
to this:
Nothing major, I know, but already a big difference for me.

There is still a lot of stuff on the other side of the attic, so we'll need to find a solution for that.  In the meantime, I ordered a roof window today and we are busy isolating  and hiding that ugly brick wall with some plasterboard.
I can't wait to get it finished!
