The leftover bag.

In September I've started an upholstery course and our first project was a chair.

From the leftover fabric I made a small bag.

I've again used the pattern from 'the Margaret Sling Bag' from Oh, Fransson! Her blog is so lovely and inspiring, if you haven't heard of it, you should really check it out soon!

Now I'm going to try and make a shell for my music tortoise.
Hope to show some pictures soon.

The bag with gratitude.

The bag for Maria, my mothers friend, is finished. And I am so glad it is! Everything that could go wrong, went wrong; Needles breaking, fabric gone missing, fabric burning because the iron was to hot, etc.

The pattern is my own design and the fabric was given to me by Maria herself. I made the bag for her because I've got so many fabric, patterns, ribbons and very good advice from her.

Thank you, Maria! Hope you like it!

Yesterday I also made a small zippered pouch (my first!). Pictures will follow soon.

The bag with the Bow.

A few weeks ago I made this bag. I used a pattern called "The Margaret Sling bag" from Oh ,Fransson!. It was pretty easy to make and it came with very clear instructions. I did make a few adjustments; like the size and the use of 2 different fabrics. I also added a zippered pocket on the inside and instead of a button I used a magnetic snap.

I don't know where I got the striped and blue fabric,

I do know the grey fabric is curtain fabric from here.

I'm back! Skiing went reasonably well, but I have to say; I missed been busy with my fabrics and thread. My bag did his job very good. It was sturdy, a good size and having a few pockets was very practical.

On Sunday I kept busy making these bibs.

I' ve always loved Matroushka Dolls and these ones were very fun to make.

Once in a while I can really enjoy sewing by hand, It's relaxing.

So now, let the spilling begin!

The bag with the stripes.

My skiing trip bag is finally finished!

I'm pretty pleased how it turned out.

It's got two pockets on the outside en two on the inside, one with a zipper.

The fabric I used for the lining is plain red (cheap!) cotton from Ikea.
The striped en checkered fabric is tablecloth from here.

Now I'm off to Zell Am See for some skiing, or something like it.
Happy Easter!

More Birthdays!

This year we already celebrated a few more birthdays.
But these two are my favourites.
My niece fitting her crown on her first birthday.
(Her twin sister was struggling with hers on the other side of the table)

The heart garland I made for the festivities. (sorry for the blurred photo)

My handsome godson on his first birthday.

And also for him I made some bunting.
One of these days my new bag will be finished. At least I hope so, because I want to take it with me to Austria when we go skiing. The bag for my mothers friend is also almost ready. Photos will follow soon!

Springtime has arrived in Belgium.
My cat Mit is already enjoying the sun.

I think I'm going to join her.

A dress (or two).

Sunday afternoon I stumbled on a free pattern from the very talented Petchy. And because I' ve got 2 little nieces and a whole lot of fabric, I decided to give it a go. With some leftover bias binding (just enough!) and two pieces of Ikea fabric,
I made these little summer dresses. The only thing missing are some beads. But they will follow soon.I can't wait for the summer to start.

Thank you Petchy!
