A summer dress

This weekend I've made myself a new dress. I found this pattern in the local fabric shop and because it said 'very easy' on the cover, I thought I'd give it a go. It was indeed an easy project and most importantly ; it fits! yeay!

This means I don't have to make any adjustments to the dress and that's good, because I wouldn't have a clue how to do that anyway!

My grandfathers desk

My grandfather loved bikes. He liked to ride them and work on them. So when my nieces and my brother and I were young he made sure we each had our own bike and every Sunday before and after dinner we drove around at my grandparents street and garden on our custom made bicycles.
In his shed where he repaired our little bikes , stood this desk. He got it from a barbershop and used it to store his tools. After my grandfather died a few years ago, I got it.
So last summer I lovingly restored it; sanded it, put a new top on, painted it and put on some gorgeous handles. Now it's in my room. The tools are gone and replaced by fabrics, scissors, pins and other sewing material, but the memory of my granddad will always remain.

Second quilt

Here are some pictures from the second quilt I've ever made. I already finished it in January (hence the snow...) but never got around to show it on my blog.
I made it for my fathers birthday and therefore I added some personal images and names on it. The one above is 'De Vlaamse Leeuw' or 'Flemish Lion', the flag of his beloved Flanders.
The fabrics are a mix of outlet Ikea fabrics and some more posh reindeer fabrics from here.
Currently I'm working on a third one, made out of stripy men shirts from the second-hand shop. But that will probably take a very long time before it's finished. I've never been good at doing only one thing at a time...

A new camera strap

Yesterday I made a new camera strap.

I used a piece of Linum waterproof table cloth and the strap ends from my old Canon ( in case it would all go horribly wrong, I would still have my original strap from my Nikon.)

I really enjoyed making it, because it was extremely easy and I had almost instant result ( less than an hours work!)
